What started as an accidental Thanksgiving invite to a stranger has turned into an unlikely friendship and a heartwarming holiday tradition. The food-filled holiday, has continued for a seventh year between Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench.

On Tuesday, Jamal Hinton shared a photo standing beside Wanda Dench outside a restaurant, revealing the two are carrying on with the reunion.

“To answer all your questions, yes Thanksgiving year 7 is planned out! See you guys Thursday!” Hinton captioned the photo while sharing it on Instagram.

It all began in 2016, when Wanda Dench mistakenly sent a message to Jamal Hinton, then 17 inviting him to the Thanksgiving dinner at her house on November 24 at 3 pm.

On receiving the message from an unknown person Hinton replied asking who it was to which the person responded, "Your grandma."

The conversation between both picked up as the teenager then asked for a photo to prove whether the number really belonged to his grandmother. “Grandma? Can I have a picture?” the teenager replied to the text, reported NBCNews.

Hinton immediately received a selfie image of a woman at work to which he replied with his photo and a text saying that he has never seen her before and that she is not his grandma. It was Dench, now 64.

“Can I still get a plate tho?” Hinton asked.

“Of course you can. That’s what grandma’s do...feed everyone,” she replied with a piece of cake emoji, reported the NBCNews.

Later, Hinton shared their interaction on social media which went viral. Thousands of people now look up to the reunion every year since their first Thanksgiving meal together in Mesa, Arizona in 2016.
