New Delhi: A viral video of a woman clad in a saree and working out at the gym has left social media divided as some users appreciated the content while others raised concerns over the practice in a traditional outfit.
The viral video of a fitness enthusiast named Reena Singh has gained traction on social media with over 1.1 million likes and over 6,771 comments. Singh, who mentioned herself as a fitness coach in the bio of the video-sharing platform Instagram, keeps posting workout-related content frequently. "This is just the beginning," wrote the aerobics trainer in the caption of her post.
Singh can be seen performing multiple forms of exercises starting from lunges and lat pulldowns. She is also seen jumping and lifting a huge tire while squatting.

Netizens were quick to respond to her videos. Some of the users applauded her unique workout attire while others raised concerns over wearing a saree instead of gym clothes that are better suited for workouts.
One of the users said, "This is motivation for house wife ... Great."
A user wrote asking her to be safe, "The amount of injury you can have is not even explainable. Yes, peheno saree... par (wear saree...but) weights, machines, cross fit... needs comfortable gym wear. Be safe!"
Another user, who stressed about wearing gym clothes wrote, "Saree is okay but encourage them to wear gym wear to avoid injury. Some exercises can be performed but not all, like the first one. So, I feel you should encourage them to wear proper clothes to avoid injury."

Last year, a similar video surfaced online in which a 56-year-old woman from Chennai was seen working out in a saree. The video of the woman hitting the gym with her daughter-in-law wearing a saree had gone viral where she shared her inspirational story of how she took to exercising in the gym despite health challenges.
The video was shared on Instagram jointly by Humans of Madras and Madras Barbell that showed the woman lifting heavy weights and dumbbells and other gym machines and equipment effortlessly in a saree.
