Love is a powerful emotion that can rekindle anytime, even six decades after the first meeting. Yes, you heard that right. A video of a 78-year-old man proposing to his high school crush after an astounding 63-year wait has gone viral on the internet. Thomas McMeekin and Nancy Gambell were high school students when they first met.
The video was originally posted on TikTok. But after being re-shared on Instagram it has caught people's attention even more.
“A love story 60 years in the making, when Dr. Thomas got down on one knee at Tampa International Airport to give his now fiancé, Nancy, a fairy-tale ending she’ll cherish forever,” reads the caption of the video shared by majicallynews.
In the clip that is going viral, McMeekin surprised Gambell with a romantic proposal at the Tampa International Airport. He knelt down on one knee, and asked Gambell to marry him to which Gambell nodded in affirmation and broke down. The crowd standing there cheered for the couple.
Since being shared, the clip has accumulated over 8.3 lakh views, 110,452 likes and tons of comments.
