A man stabbed an 18-year-old college student in broad daylight after she reportedly ended her friendship at St Thomas Mount on Friday. Currently, the woman is stable and she is receiving treatment at a private hospital. The police have also established a search to nab the accused who escaped from the spot. The accused has been identified as Naveen.
According to a report on Times of India, the woman was a student at a private college in Adyar and she was on her way back home at the time of the incident.
On Friday, when the woman was walking to her home, Naveen intercepted her and started to argue with her. Within some time, the eyewitnesses told New Indian Express that Naveen pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in her neck. In the impact, the woman fell on the ground and the onlookers immediately rushed to help her. However, Naveen fled the scene.
The woman was taken to a private hospital in Manapakkam.
Based on the complaint, the Nadambakkam police have registered a case and they are a search to nab the accused.
Naveen is reportedly a resident of Kalaignar Nagar in St Thomas Mount.
Last year, another stalker harmed a woman in the same St Thomas Mount Area. A stalker identified as Sathish pushed a 20-year-old victim Sathya from Adambakkam in front of a moving train at St Thomas Mount Railway Station. Sathya died on the spot.
On October 13, 2022, the accused Sathish stalked Sathya to the railway station and tried to speak to her. However, an argument broke out between them and in a fit of rage, Sathish pushed Sathya onto the track while a train was nearing the station for a halt. In the impact, Sathya's head got smashed under the wheels and she died on the spot.
