TSPSC Question Paper Leak: Police Stop YSRTP Chief Sharmila From Leaving Home To Join Protest
TSPSC canceled Assistant Engineers exam on March 5 following allegations of the question paper leaking.
Telangana Police stopped YSRTP chief Y S Sharmila from leaving her residence in Hyderabad on Friday to hold a protest at Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) office over alleged question paper leak.
On Wednesday, TSPSC cancelled the Assistant Engineers (AE) exam held on March 5, following allegations of the question paper being leaked, even as protests by various student unions and youth wings of opposition parties continued for the second day.

Earlier, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan ordered the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to provide a report regarding the recent leak of question papers during the Assistant Engineer recruitment exams for various departments. The governor also directed TSPSC to suggest measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
Meanwhile, state IT minister K T Rama Rao demanded the state DGP to enquire about this matter thoroughly and bring perpetrators to justice.

On Monday, Hyderabad police arrested nine people, including two TSPSC employees and a police constable, for their alleged involvement in the question paper leakage of the assistant engineer recruitment examination.The Commission will take a decision on the matter based on the report submitted by the police regarding their investigations into the incident.
The TSPSC conducted the exam on March 5 for 833 vacancies of assistant engineer, technical officer, municipal assistant engineer, and junior technical officer in various engineering departments. Approximately 55,000 candidates took the written exam.
