New Delhi: Telangana Congress Chief A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the BJP and TRS are planning to trigger tension in Munugode Assembly constituency similar to the one that was carried out in West Bengal ahead of the assembly elections, to polarise voters.
Speaking to media in Munugodu, Revanth Reddy said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held secret meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his stay in Delhi to plot a 'conspiracy' to create tensions and polarise the voters between TRS and BJP in the Munugode byelection.
He further urged the people of the state, the party leaders and workers to remain alert on the issue.
Talking about the alleged conspiracy, Reddy said that the CRPF forces would attack the TRS party workers, prompting the state police to attack the BJP activists. He said the Trinamool Congress party and BJP had executed similar plans in West Bengal and eliminated all other political parties from the map and noted that the turmoil created by the two parties helped the BJP become the main opposition in the state.
Reddy urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to follow the regulations when assigning serial numbers on the electoral sequence on ballots or EVMs. According to the current rules, he stated, the national parties should be given preference in alphabetical order.
He further asked the authorities concerned about how the ruling TRS party’s symbol was brought to the second position in the ballot paper instead of the fourth.
Additionally, he requested the ECI to take note of any unapproved vehicles, such as ministerial-allocated government protocol cars, used for road shows and political campaigns.
