Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao said there was nothing but poison in the words of BJP leaders after the two-day national executive meeting of the saffron party. Responding to Union Minister Amit Shah's comments regarding TRS' election campaign slogan "Nellu-Nidhulu-Niyamakalu" (Water-funds-job opportunities), Harish Rao slammed BJP leaders for spreading fake news about TRS government and Telangana CM KCR.

At a press conference at the TRS Legislative Party office on Monday, Minister Harish Rao said, "Amit Shah, isn't it true that Telangana has no water issue? The farmers here tell you. Ripe crops are proof of that. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said yesterday that they had bought grain worth ₹1 lakh crore. How did the grain come without water? How did you buy it?"

According to NITI Aayog, Telangana is the largest rice producer after Punjab. Telangana's agricultural growth rate is 10%, compared to the national average of 3%. "Amit Shah, don't speak incoherently or bring your level down. People think you have read a wrongly written script," Harish further said.

Harish Rao said that Telangana was a role model in terms of development. "We are providing Kaleshwaram water for cultivation and Mission Bhagiratha water for drinking because of the funds. More development would have happened if the Centre had given funds to Telangana," Harish Rao said.

"BJP has said in its manifesto that it would provide two crore jobs per year. Vacancies in central government and public sector organisations are still unfilled. We are filling all the vacancies in Telangana. Ayushman Bharat applies to 26 lakh families in the state. Arogyashri is applicable to 86 lakh families. Arogyashri is a better scheme than Ayushman Bharat," the minister asserted.

Harish Rao asked why did the Centre not bring the Women's Reservation Act for eight years and why they did not reduce cylinder prices, which is presently at a steep Rs 1050.
