Hyderabad: Telangana government has decided to completely lift the lockdown in all the districts of the state from Sunday (June 20). As per the notification, all the business activities can commence and the curbs will be eased further. The decision was taken by the state government in a cabinet meeting held earlier in the day.






Complete lifting of lockdown implies that there will not be any night curfew in any district of the state. Despite warnings of third wave of coronavirus, the state has taken this decision to lift lockdown completely.

The state cabinet has directed officials of all the departments in the state to lift the lockdown guidelines imposed during the lockdown. The government has taken this deicision of lifting lockdown in Telangana as the Covid cases and the positivity rate witnessed significant drop in the past few days.


"The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The decision has been taken to lift the lockdown by examining the reports given by medical authorities that the number of corona cases, positivity percentage has decreased significantly, corona have come into full control," the Chief Minister's Office posted on Facebook.


Telangana on Friday over 1,400 Covid-19 cases and 12 fatalities have been reported while posting a Test Positivity Rate of 1.14 per cent which is lesser than the national average. On Friday, India reported 60,753 new cases and 1,647 deaths in 24 hours.


Many other states which showed greater incidence of the virus have started unlocks process.
