Hyderabad: Five persons were killed, one seriously injured when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus collided with a car after a tyre bust in Telangana's Kamareddy district On Monday.


A TSRTC bus rammed into a car approaching from the opposite direction near the Ghanpur town of Machareddy Mandal in Jangaon district. Five passengers travelling in the car were killed, and a child was critically injured. According to police, the collision occurred after one of the tyres of the bus burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle.


The bus hit the car, coming from the opposite direction. The car then collided with a tree. The deceased include two men, two women and a child. Another child, who was injured, was shifted to a local hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.


A police officer said the car was heading from Kamareddy towards Karimnagar. The deceased were from the Kammarpally in the Nizamabad district.

In a similar incident and horrific incident, seven persons were killed and 45 others were injured after a bus slipped into a gorge near Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The bus carrying 50 members of a marriage party fell into a valley as it went out of control.


The incident occurred at Bhakarapet, which is only 25 kilometres from temple town Tirupati. CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the bereaved.
