Hyderabad: Chief Minister KCR has initiated comprehensive administrative reforms in Telangana. In addition, KCR‌ appointed a high-level administrative reform committee with four IAS officers to study other issues such as the filling of vacancies in various government departments and the identification of posts required for the smooth functioning of the new districts.


KCR held a high-level review meeting on administrative reforms at Pragati Bhavan on Sunday.


It is learned that in the wake of the President's earlier approval of the zonal system, the government has almost completed the process of staff adjustment in 33 districts as per the directives.


With this, the CM initiated administrative reforms. He also decided to set up a committee headed by Stamps and Registrations Inspector General and Commissioner V Seshadri, CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar and Women and Child Welfare Commissioner Divya Devarajan to study administrative reforms. The CM directed the committee to start work immediately and submit the report soon.

Officials told the chief minister that 38,643 employees had been adjusted in the joint districts across the state as per the Presidential directives, while 38,542 employees, excluding 101, have joined the respective posts. He explained that transfers and postings had been completed in zonal and multi-zones.


Speaking on occasion, the CM said, "We will focus on filling the vacancies as soon as the zonal process is completed." He directed the committee to take steps for immediate notifications to fill the vacancies in the districts, review and report on the steps to be taken to improve the performance of various government departments while completing the construction of integrated government office complexes and police buildings in the districts.


The committee will also look into making the most use of revenue divisional officers' and local revenue staff's services. It will examine the workload in various departments in newly constituted mandals and districts, determine the number of new posts required, and recommend technology-related initiatives.


The CM was also directed to make suggestions on how to utilize the services of employees for the expansion of services in the departments of education, medicine, municipal and Panchayati raj, which are essential for the people and the creation of infrastructure. 


The meeting was attended by MLAs C Lakshmareddy, Guvvala Balaraju, Shanampudi Saidireddy, MLC Venkatramreddy, CS Someshkumar, Principal Secretary Nursing Rao, CMO officials Seshadri, Smita Sabharwal, Bhupalreddy, Rajasekharreddy, Priyanka Varghese and others.
