Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao said on Tuesday that Telangana was a model for the entire country in  women's welfare. The Telanagana minister lauded the government's efforts towards women's welfare activities as the state marked women's welfare day as part of Formation Day celebrations.

He emphasised that women were not just half of the welfare system but an integral part. "She is not half of the sky, she is the sky," KTR tweeted. KTR highlighted the comprehensive support provided by the KCR government, ranging from care for newborn girls to elderly women.

KTR highlighted initiatives such as nutrition kits for pregnant women, calling them a crucial first step in building a "healthy Telangana".

The minister said Rs 13,000 was being given along with the KCR kit for every birth. "If a baby girl is born it is as if Goddess Lakshmi has entered the house," he said.
