Stranded Telangana Workers In War-Torn Afghanistan Beseech Indian Govt For Rescue

Hyderabad: It's been chaotic in Afghanistan since the US has withdrawn its troops and as a result Taliban, a terrorist outfit, has captured cities which led to the fleeing of former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani. People have been misplaced and the visuals of people running desperately for life to fly from Kabul have been heart-wrenching.

According to foreign ministry, India has evacuated its ambassador, diplomats, officials and some stranded in Afghanistan through a flight which flew to Hindon air base near Delhi on Tuesday. But, Indian diaspora is still stranded in the war-torn country, which is taken over by Taliban. A couple of worker from Telangana and 14 others have beseeched the government for rescue them from the turmoil.

A 44-year-old B Rajanna from Telangana's Manchiryal, who landed in Kabul on August 8, pleaded the government for his rescue as his family was shattered with the news of Rajanna's house came under attack. Similarly, another worker Venkanna from Karimnagar district was also stranded.

Now, the family members are urging the Centre to bring them back to home safely. Bommena Rajanna, from Manchiryal district, has been working for ACCL, an Afghan company based in Kabul, for eight years. Often he makes visits to his home on vacations. The last time he came from Afghan was on June 28 and returned on August 8. After knowing his house was under attack by the teorrrist outfit, his family members were left in doldrums not knowing what to do living miles away from the victim. Rajanna's wife Vasantha and daughter Ramya pleaded the government for Rajanna's safe return.

Venkanna, a resident of Oddara in Karimnagar district, was also on duty with him at the time, Rajanna said in a phone call on Tuesday night, according to ABP Desam. He urged the government to take the initiative to repatriate him safely to India. A total of 14 Indians were also said to be with them.

On the flip side, a total of 150 people were airlifted to Delhi on Tuesday. The Indian Foreign Ministry has announced the completion of the evacuation process from the Kabul Embassy. The government is in the process of collecting details of Indians living in Kabul.
