As Telangana gears up to celebrate its State Formation Day on June 2, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to embark on a visit to Delhi to extend a formal invitation to Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi to invite for the occasion as the chief guest.


Sources close to the Chief Minister revealed that Revanth Reddy, who is scheduled to attend a private event in Kerala on Monday, will likely fly to Delhi from Kochi to meet Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. The state government is leaving no stone unturned to organise the celebrations on a grand scale, with plans for a massive public meeting at the Parade Grounds in the works, according to a report on The New Indian Express.


One of the highlights of the event is the unveiling of the Telangana official anthem, composed by renowned poet Ande Sri and set to music by Keeravani. The unveiling ceremony is expected to take place in the esteemed presence of Sonia Gandhi, adding to the significance of the occasion.

For Revanth Reddy and the Congress party, the State Formation Day celebrations hold immense importance, marking the first time the party has come to power in Telangana since its formation in 2014, during its rule at the Centre.


Deputy Chief Minister who is currently engaged in the Lok Sabha election campaign in Punjab, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is anticipated to join Revanth Reddy in Delhi for the invitation. Additionally, key state ministers are likely to accompany the Chief Minister to extend invitations to Sonia Gandhi and AICC president Kharge emphasising the party's commitment to making the event a resounding success.
