According to media reports, the I.N.D.I.A bloc has decided to call an all-party meeting on June 1, on the day of the last and seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. The oppostion bloc leaders have been invited to attend the meeting in Delhi, which comes just days ahead of June 4, the day Lok Sabha elections 2024 results will be announced.


The meeting has been called to review and discuss the coalition's future course of actions, keeping in mind its performance in the Lok Sabha elections, sources added.


The I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders who have been invited for the key meeting include all chiefs of the opposition alliance. The list includes Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav, among others, the report noted. 


It is to be noted that the meeting has been called just a day before the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has to surrender himself in Tihar Jail, as directed by the Supreme Court. 


The Aam Aadmi Party chief was granted an interim bail until June 2 in view of the campaigning for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024. Kejriwal was arrested in connection with an alleged money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped liquour policy.


After the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, which concluded on May 25 (Saturday), the Congress claimed that the alliance has already crossed the halfway mark of 272 seats. The grand old party also claimed that the I.N.D.I.A bloc was on course to secure a tally of over 350 seats in total.


Lok Sabha elections 2024 began on April 19 and was scheduled to be held across seven phases, out of which voting for six phases have concluded.


The six phases of Lok Sabh polls were held on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25. The seventh and final of the Lok Sabha elections is slated to be held on June 1. The results will be declared on June 4.
