New Delhi: Taking potshots at K. Chandrashekar Rao over his remarks that there is a need to re-write the Indian Constitution, the Congress on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a child compared to the Telangana Chief Minister when it comes to diverting public attention.

The Congress said KCR, who is not capable of issuing promised job notifications, talks about rewriting the Indian Constitution.

“This fellow is not capable of issuing promised Job notifications and he talks about rewriting Indian Constitution. Modi is child compared to KCR when it comes to diverting public attention,” the Telangana Congress tweeted.

Earlier on Tuesday, KCR said that there is a need to re-write the Indian Constitution, adding he will meet all leaders and share his viewpoint with them in this regard.

The Telangana Chief Minister, who will be meeting his Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray, said there is a need for qualitative leadership change in the country.

“I will going to Mumbai to meet Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to hold talks over it…We’ve to re-write our Constitution. ‘Nayi Soch Naya Samvidhan’ (new Constitution) should be brought in,” he said, ANI reported.

Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said the meeting between the two chief ministers is part of the efforts to form an alliance of all opposition parties to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections together against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“We have been working for the past month and are trying to form a separate organization (alliance) of all Opposition to contest the 2024 polls together,” ANI quoted Raut as saying on being asked about the Telangana Chief Minister’s upcoming meeting with Thackeray.

The meeting assumes significance as it comes just days after the presentation of the Union Budget and the upcoming assembly elections in five states, including politically crucial Uttar Pradesh.
