New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet on Thursday before a special court in Hyderabad against 11 accused in a case pertaining to the organisation of terror training camps and the recruitment of persons for terrorist acts by the banned outfit, Popular Front of India (PFI).
The case was initially registered in the Nizamabad district in Telangana and was later re-registered by the NIA on August 26, 2022.
According to the officials, the accused persons were radicalising gullible Muslim youth and recruiting them into the PFI through speeches filled with hatred against the Government of India as well as other organisations and individuals.
The investigation revealed that once they were recruited into PFI, the Muslim youth were sent to training camps under the guise of yoga and physical education classes, they were trained to use knives, sickles, and iron rods to kill a person by attacking body parts such as the throat, stomach, and head for the commission of terrorist acts.
The accused Abdul Ahad, Abdul Khader, Shaik Iliyas Ahmed, Abdul Saleem, Shaik Shadullah, Feroz Khan, Mohammad Osman alias Usman, Syed Yahiya Sameer, Shaik Imran, Mohd Abdul Mubeen, and Mohammad Irfan have been charge-sheeted under sections 120B, 153(A) of IPC, Sections 17, 18, 18A & 18B of UA(P) Act.
Further investigation into the case is in progress.
