Earlier on Saturday, BJP leader P Sudhakar Reddy said that he is confident about the party's victory despite TRS poured money like water for luring voters.

As reported earlier, the by-poll was declared after sitting MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy quit Congress in August to join BJP. He contested the by-poll on a BJP ticket. While 47 candidates in contention, eyes are on BJP's Rajagopal Reddy, former TRS MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and Congress' Sravanthi.

Congress' Sravanthi leaves Counting Centre

A disappointed congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi Reddy left the counting centre. Munugode has been a congress and left party bastion previously. Her father Palvai Govardhan Reddy represented the constituency five times.

In 2018, it was Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy who won the election on a congress ticket. He is now the BJP candidate.

The saffron party had only got around 8 per cent in the 2018 state election and now in this by-election emerged as the strongest opponent of TRS, while congress is in ruin.
