The counting of votes in the high-octane Munugode byelection started at 8 AM after a voter turnout of 93.13 per cent was recorded on Thursday. Election Commission has begun counting votes through postal ballots and TRS is leading at four ballots. Of the 686 postal ballots received, TRS secured 228 votes, BJP got 224 votes and BSP won 10 votes.
Though there are 47 candidates in the fray, all eyes are on the ruling TRS and BJP who have aggressively campaigned.
The vote-counting process began at 8 AM and will end at 3 PM on Sunday. The Election Commission has made all necessary preparations for the counting of votes at Arjalabavi in the Nalgonda district. It was reported that adequate security arrangements have been made and there will also be micro-observers and the counting process will be video graphed.
The bypoll was declared after sitting MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy quit Congress in August to join BJP. He contested the by-poll on a BJP ticket. While 47 candidates in contention, eyes are on BJP's Rajagopal Reddy, former TRS MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and Congress' Palvai Sravanthi.

BJP's Sudhakar Reddy Upbeat Of Party Victory
BJP leader P Sudhakar Reddy on Saturday said that he is confident about the party's victory despite TRS poured money like water for luring voters.
"Munugode byelection was held on November 3. Under the direction of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, several TRS ministers, MLAs and MPs campaigned in Munugode, its heights of misuse of power. On Sunday, counting will take place and we are expecting results will be in out favour in spite of TRS pouring money like water for luring voters. TRS took this election as a matter of life and death as CM KCR floated the national party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)," said Reddy as quoted by news agency ANI.
