New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday said “Delhi brokers” tried to bribe four MLAs of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), referring to last week's incident that took place at a farmhouse in the southern state.
Speaking at a rally in Munugode, CM KCR said, "Some Delhi brokers came to challenge Telangana's self-respect... They offered ₹ 100 crores to four MLAs," he said.
Parading on dais all the four who had tipped off the police about the incident, KCR said, “With me 4 MLAs have come from Hyderabad to Munugode. These are my 4 MLA's who refused the crores of rupees of Delhi brokers who conspired to poach against our Government.”
“I am asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, why this cruelty? How much more power do you want? You have already been elected twice, then why are you toppling governments? Those working for Modi and the RSS are in central prison for conspiring against our Telangana government,” KCR said, adding, "They wanted to capture Telangana... I am telling farmers -- when we vote, we must vote carefully. We cannot get bribed, cheated by such politics.”
Responding to KCR's charges, senior BJP leader and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said, "Today you call them Delhi brokers. I am asking. through brokerism (sic) only you encouraged all the MLAs who have joined your party earlier." He further sought to know if any of the BJP leaders had gone to TRS MLAs' farmhouse or promised money to them. "Do we have so much money? Are they such great MLAs so that each one would cost Rs 100 crore?" he asked.
"I am conveying one thing. KCR garu, we have no intention of toppling your government. You may have the idea of toppling your own government and acquire sympathy so that it becomes an agenda in the elections. Our party does not have such intentions. Already you have lost your respect among people. People are loathing you and your party," Reddy added.
According to reports, a case of criminal conspiracy and prevention of corruption was registered by Moinabad police on October 27, following which the Cyberabad police registered a case on the complaint of TRS MLA Rohit Reddy, who alleged that the three accused Ramachandra Bharati, Nandakumar, and Simhayaji Nandu came to the farmhouse in the outskirts of Hyderabad as part of the deal and ‘pressured’ them to join the BJP.
He was reportedly offered Rs 100 crores to join the party. Police seized an amount of Rs 15 crores from the farmhouse.
