New Delhi: Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer 'Ram Setu' have seen some improvement on Saturday in terms of business, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Thank God' also saw some relief on its fifth day.
As per Taran Adarsh, "#RamSetu sees some improvement on Day 5 [Sat]… Ideally, should’ve hit double digits or thereabouts… All eyes on Day 6 [Sun], although #INDvSA match will affect biz… Tue 15.25 cr, Wed 11.40 cr, Thu 8.75 cr, Fri 6.05 cr, Sat 7.30 cr. Total: ₹ 48.75 cr. #India biz."
'Thank God' collected Rs. 3.25 crores, reported BoxOfficeIndia. This jump in collection taked the total tally to Rs. 23.25 crores.
According to Box Office India, the collections of Thank God are as follows:
Day 1: Rs 7.50 crore
Day 2: Rs 5.75 crore
Day 3: Rs 4 crore
Day 4: Rs 2.75 crore
Day 5: Rs 3.25 crore
Even with this minor jump, the opening weekend collections of 'Thank God' are way below the expectations as most trade analysts predicted. In the international market too, 'Thank God' has not done very well. In fact, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's film 'The Legend of Maula Jatt' has been making the most mark internationally in the UK and North American markets.
'Thank God' revolves around a selfish man( played by Sidharth Malhotra), who after an accident, finds himself in 'Yamlok' where Chitragupta, played by Ajay Devgn, give him another chance at life if he agrees to play a game. The film has been directed by Indra Kumar.
'Ram Setu' on the other hand, is about an archaeologist establishing the truth behind 'Ram Setu'( the bridge which connected India to Sri Lanka, built under the directions of Lord Ram 7000 years ago). Akshay Kumar plays the truth-finding scientist.
