Chennai: A 23-year-old Swiggy food delivery executive sustained grievous injuries on his head after he jumped from the third floor of a building fearing a pet dog attack in Hyderabad. The incident took place when the executive went to deliver a parcel at an apartment building in Banjara Hills and a pet dog started barking at him. 


According to the CCTV footage retrieved from the apartment, the visuals revealed that the Swiggy delivery executive fell from the third floor of a building in Banjara Hills after he was attacked by a pet dog. 


According to police, the delivery boy had gone to the third floor of Lumbini Rock Castle apartment. When he knocked at the door of a flat, a German shepherd barked and came charging toward him. Out of fear, Rizwan jumped off the third floor and sustained grievous injuries.


Flat owner Shobana called an ambulance and got him shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).


The condition of Rizwan, a resident of Sriram Nagar in Yousufguda area of the city, is stated to be critical

Rizwan's brother Mohammed Khaja lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police on Thursday night and sought action.


Banjara Hills SI Harishwar Reddy said that a case has been booked under section 336 IPC (Rash or negligent act endangering human life or personal safety)  and 289 IPC (Negligent conduct with respect to an animal in possession).


Earlier, Hyderabad reported a stray dog menace in the city. As a result of the menace, a young boy was injured after a stray dog chased and attacked him in Mehdipatnam in Dilshad Nagar Colony. 


Another boy was killed after stray dogs attacked him in Kulsoompura area.
