All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi made fun of Congressman Rahul Gandhi on Thursday and asked whether he was a djinn if he had killed himself. This was in response to a recent statement by Rahul Gandhi, who claimed that although Rahul Gandhi was only in people's heads, he had already been dead.

The official Facebook handle of the news agency ANI posted a video showcasing clips of the AIMIM chief and Congress leader.

"This is the state of the Congress. A 50-year-old says he has killed cold, he has killed himself. Tu kya hai phir? Jinn hai? (What are you then, Djin?) Who is this person if you have killed yourself? People would have assumed I was having fits if I had said something like that," the AIMIM chief said.

Rahul Gandhi was recently asked about the shift in his image during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. "Rahul Gandhi is in your mind. I killed him a long time ago. Rahul Gandhi is not the person you are looking at right now. You may be able to see him," Rahul Gandhi added that if one studies Hinduism, one will understand his statement.

In his speech, Owaisi highlighted RSS head Mohan Bhagwat's recent remark that Muslims must renounce their boisterous rhetoric of supremacy. "I am a proud Muslim and am glad to have inherited Islam's magnificent 1300-year-old traditions. I refuse to give up even a small proportion of this inheritance. It is my duty to protect them," Owaisi read an English statement.

"...I am proud as an Indian. I am a part of the indivisible unity that is Indian nationality," the statement added. "Mohan Bhagwat referenced the 1,000-year Hindu war. Who have you been battling for all these years? "India gained independence 75 years ago, and the RSS made no contribution to the country's freedom," Owaisi remarked.
