Hyderabad Woman Abducts TV Anchor In Bid To Marry Him, Arrested

On February 11, the hired men abducted the victim and took him to the woman's office where they subjected him to severe physical assault.

Hyderabad police arrested a businesswoman for allegedly stalking and kidnapping a TV music channel anchor reportedly with the intent of marriage. The woman even went to extreme measures including installing a tracking device on the anchor's car to monitor his every move, the police said on Friday.

According to ANI, K Purushotham Reddy, ACP, Malkajgiri said, "A kidnapping case was registered in the Malkajgiri subdivision, under the Uppal police station by Pranav Sista, a software engineer and TV Anchor against a woman named Bogireddy Trishna who wanted to marry him. Pranav refused to marry her."

"The woman has been arrested by Uppal police and the search for others is underway. Using the technical evidence the case is registered and she will be sent to court," he said.

The 31-year-old woman, operating a digital marketing business, initially contacted the anchor through an instant messaging app and persistently sent him messages. Despite the anchor reportedly blocking her, her determination to marry him led her to devise a plan to reconcile their differences, said the police, as per a report on NDTV.

Following this, she employed four individuals and relied on technology to track the victim's movements. She orchestrated a ploy to kidnap him. On February 11, the hired men abducted the victim and took him to the woman's office where they subjected him to severe physical assault, as per the police. Fearing for his safety, the TV anchor agreed to the woman's demands and was later released, they said, as per the report.
