The gangrape of a 16-year-old Hyderabad girl had taken place on May 28. The accused had kidnapped the girl after a party at the Amnesia and Insomnia Pub in Malik’s Mercedes Benz car. The girl was later shifted into another car in which the minor was raped.

Hyderabad police had earlier booked a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for gang rape, causing injuries, and kidnapping under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
