Hyderabad: The much awaited Huzurabad assembly bypoll finally gets a date as the Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced that the byelection will be held on October 30. 


ECI decided to schedule the polls on the aforementioned date considering the issues related to pandemic, floods, festivals, cold conditions in parts of country where polls were long due to happen as feedback was given from states and UTs.


Bypolls to three Lok Sabha seats and 29 other assembly constituencies in other states will be also held on October 30, the ECI said. The vounting of votes will take place on November 2.

Earlier, it was speculated that the elections in Huzurabad would be held by the end of November. But the ECI said they had to take the decision of picking a date ahead of November after considering all the factors.

During a video conference on September 1, the Election Commission of India said that the election officer in Telangana and the state's chief secretary viewed that the issues of public gathering during pandemic is to be consired and the floods and the climate condition also plays a major role during the monsoon for people.
