Chennai: The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hit out at Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for his statement calling PM Modi's $5 trillion economy' target a joke. After the presser of the Finance Minister, soon a war of words ensued between her and Kavitha, BRS MLC and KCR's daughter.
On Thursday, Union FM Sitharaman said, “How can you tell that aim of a 5 trillion economy is a joke? Every state should contribute towards it. Who are you laughing upon, the people? In 2014, debt of Telangana was Rs 60,000 crores, but in the last 7-8 years it has crossed Rs.3 lakh crores.”
Sitharaman questioned KCR who is trying to form a strong opposition ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024.
After the speech of Nirmala Sitharaman, BRS MLC K Kavitha was quick to attack NDA as 'No Data Available’. BRS MLC K Kavitha said, “Our CM said that NDA govt is 'No Data Available' govt, and we stand by it as BRS party. After Modi govt came, there's no census conducted and they (Centre) say that there are no data available for demonetisation, per capita income, RTIs.”
The Finance Minister also soon hit out at BRS government by stating that it’s Telangana that does not have data on medical colleges in the state. Sitharaman said, “Now you are telling that you did not receive a single medical college in 157 medical colleges from the Centre. You don't have the data of places in Telangana that have medical colleges & you're blaming NDA as 'No Data Available'.”
“When the centre asked for the list of places for medical colleges, the state (Telangana) listed Karimnagar & Khammam. But those places already had medical colleges,” she said.
