The supporters of former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested in connection with AP Skill Development case, staged a protest by entering and travelling in Hyderabad metro by donning black t-shirts on Saturday. The protestors gathered at Miyapur to LB Nagar stations in black outfits and created tension in the stations of the public transportation system. Many of the agitators were identified as IT employees.
The agitators took part in the protest 'Let's Metro for CBN'. Once the protesters boarded the train authorities reinforced security and stopped more demonstrators from entering the station. The security team locked the gate to Ameerpet Metro Station. At the JNTU Metro Station, the Metro personnel refused to issue tickets to protesters.
Miyapur metro station was also closed by the police for a while. The protestors were apprehended by police at SR Nagar Station.
The Metro authorities also said that those wearing black shirts and t-shirts will not be allowed to travel in the metro.
Taking to X, TDP leader Jyothsna Tirunagari said that she was arrested for questioning the police during 'Let's Metro for CBN' protest at Miyapur.
TDP said, Telangana Police were preventing people from calmly participating in the Chandrababu-supporting programme "Let's Metro for CBN" in Hyderabad.
A few days ago, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members protested against N. Chandrababu Naidu's imprisonment in a number of locations throughout Visakhapatnam. The TDP members and supports of Naidu organised a demonstration at the party office, led by former MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao.
