Hyderabad: After pigeons were found with "Chinese badged" tagged on legs in Rourkela and Puri earlier this week, a pigeon with a similar tag was spotted at Dammaigudem village in Telangana's Khammam district. The pigeon approached the local grain purchasing centre and remained motionless, narrated the resident of the village.

A resident named Battula Nageswararao spotted the pigeon with a yellow colour rubber tag on its foot. He then informed Sarpanch Nageswarao and Police about the incident, reports ABP Desam.

The police personnel and locals reportedly examined the tag and everyone was concerned that the label had Chinese-like letters on it. Sub Inspector Bhavani reached the spot, a team captured the pigeon, and handed it over to the forest department officials.

The Forest Range Officer told the reporters that the pigeon was unlikely to fly this far from China. He said they would investigate the case and reveal more details. He added that the pigeon, which is hurt, could be treated.

However, pigeons with Chinese language tags were also seen in some parts of Odisha on Monday and Tuesday.

Recently, the locals caught a similar pigeon in Cheemakurthy in the Prakasam district. There are many speculations after the pigeon was similarly found with a yellow tag with Chinese fonts. The local police have provided this information to the superiors.

People are worried and suspicious of these rare pigeons caught in Khammam, Prakasam districts. The police are investigating whether there was any conspiracy behind this.
