Send Video Messages On WhatsApp Soon
WhatsApp users may be soon able to send video messages to their friends and family members. The feature is being tested, according to a report by WhatsApp beta tester WABetaInfo, and the feature would let users send short videos of up to 60 seconds with their contacts on the messaging platform. The Meta-owned company has started testing the ability to send messages in beta for both iOS and Android users.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature is being tested on version 23.12.0.71 for iOS and version 2.23.13.4 of WhatsApp beta for Android. The ability to send new video messages is located on the chat bar at the bottom of the screen, which is next to the buttons for attachments, the camera and the WhatsApp Pay icon; this is available in select regions. The easiest way to check if the ability to record a video message is enabled for your WhatsApp account is to tap the microphone button within the chat bar in any conversation.
Samsung Galaxy Watch To Get Heart Rhythm Notifications
Samsung joining the likes of Apple Watch and Fitbit smartwatches and adding a new capability to Galaxy Watches where the user will get irregular heart rhythm notifications (IHRN), apart from the existing ECG and blood pressure monitoring, in a bid to help users track abnormal heart rhythms and gain deeper heart health insights. The Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature is being added to the Samsung Health Monitor app and it will be available in 13 markets starting this summer, Samsung Electronics has announced.
Amazon Prime Lite Subscription In India
Amazon Prime Lite membership which is cheaper than the original Amazon Prime membership has been launched for users in India. Unlike Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime Lite will come with fewer benefits. This subscription tier was earlier available for only select users in the country, but now, it has been made available for all users.
The cost of Amazon Prime Lite has been set at Rs 999 for 12 months. In comparison, the Amazon Prime membership is available for Rs 1,499 for one year in India. Amazon Prime Lite subscription is available for both Android and iOS users as well as for the web client in India. This means users on iOS, Android and the web can sign up for the Amazon Prime Lite plan now.
Twitter Asked To Evict Its Office
Elon Musk-owned Twitter is getting evicted from its Colorado office over unpaid rent of three months. It owes the rent to its Boulder landlord, the media has reported. A judge has signed off on evicting the micro-blogging giant from its office there, court documents show. The judge deemed that Twitter must vacate by the end of July.
A Chicago-based landlord that owns Twitter's office in the city of Boulder, was provided a $968,000 letter of credit back in February 2020, according to a report in Denver Business Journal. The money ran out in March and the micro-blogging platform has not paid the rent since, which works out to be around $27,000 per month.
N. Korean Hackers Create Fake Naver-Like Web Portal
According to South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS), North Korean hackers have launched a deceptive website that closely resembles the popular South Korean web portal Naver, as reported by Reuters. This marks a more sophisticated approach aimed at targeting users in South Korea, prompting the NIS to issue a warning. The NIS cautioned the public this week, advising against accessing the fraudulent website named "Naver Portal." Additionally, they announced a collaboration with international organisations to track the activities of the group they believe is responsible for the creation of the counterfeit portal.
