Mann Ki Baat, the monthly radio programme where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses and interacts with citizens on matters of national concern and development, on Sunday held its 100th broadcast. The landmark episode was lauded by eminent personalities and celebrities from all walks of life. Microsoft co-founder and noted philanthropist Bill Gates is one of them. And his special tweet on Mann Ki Baat saw a retweet from PM Modi’s official handle, along with a message of gratitude.


On April 29, Gates tweeted that Mann Ki Baat has “catalyzed community-led action” in sectors such as women’s economic empowerment, health, and sanitation, alongside highlighting noteworthy issues linked to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


In response, PM Modi on May 1 retweeted Gates’ post, thanking him and saying that Mann Ki Baat reflects the nation’s collective spirit of its citizens to help make Earth better, “something Mr. Gates is also passionate about.”






On the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi touched on pertinent topics such as women empowerment, tourism, education, and more.

The Prime Minister talked about the women of Deur village from Chhattisgarh who run cleanliness drives through self-help groups. Speaking on tourism, he asked listeners to visit at least 15 national tourist destinations before deciding to visit any other country.
