Meta-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram is down for several users globally. According to outage detection site Downdetector, Instagram has been down for users since early morning with several users reporting encountering glitch while using Instagram Reels. Meta-owned Instagram has not acknowledged the issue so far, say media reports.

"User reports indicate Instagram is having problems since 10:04 PM EDT. http://downdetector.com/status/instagram/ RT if you're also having problems #Instagramdown," Downdetector posted on Twitter.

Some Instagram users reported seeing zero views on Instagram Reels. The current Instagram outage seems to be affecting users in the US and nearby regions only.

According to Downdetector, the Instagram outage has affected 38 per cent of users on the app while another 33 per cent of Instagram users are facing issues with server connections. Another 29 per cent of Instagram users faced glitches while logging into the platform.

Several users are said to have faced issues in accessing the Instagram feed as well as viewing and posting Stories. Many users took to micro-blogging platform Twitter to raise the issue and vent their ire.

"People rushing to Twitter to check if Instagram is down or not #instagramdown," a user tweetd.

Another user seemingly affected by the outage posted: "When you come to @Twitter  to confirm @instagram is down #InstagramStories #instagramdown."

To recall, earlier in March, Meta Verified waitlist was opened in India. The social networking giant announced it will offer Meta Verified at a price of Rs 1,099 for web users and mobile app users will have to shell out Rs 1,499 for Meta Verified in the country.

However, currently, there is no assured timeline of when the Mark Zuckerberg-owned social networking giant plans to launch the service in India.
