IndiGo, the prominent carrier recently making its round on the news due to seemingly incessant flight delays, is currently undergoing a planned upgrade of its system, slated to occur from 11 pm on January 16, until 8:30 am on January 17. Despite the announced time, the website or the app is still not up and running yet. This update is expected to temporarily render essential services inaccessible on its website and app. Notably, the airline has reassured the continuity of flight operations across all airports, even as the development unfolds amidst prevalent travel disruptions at Delhi airport caused by dense fog and reduced visibility.


Passengers have been duly notified by the airline about the unavailability of services like self-baggage drop and Digi Yatra facilities during the upgrade period. Furthermore, services pertaining to the airline's website, mobile app, and contact centre are anticipated to experience an impact.






In an official communication, IndiGo stated, "To provide improved customer experience, our systems will be upgraded from 2300hrs IST on January 16, 2024 till 0830hrs IST on January 17, 2024. While we will ensure uninterrupted flight operations at all our airports, self-baggage drop and Digi Yatra will be unavailable, and our website, app and contact centre will be impacted. Please complete your web check-in, print/download your boarding pass, and make modifications to your booking in advance."

To alleviate potential inconveniences for travellers, IndiGo strongly recommends completing web check-in, obtaining printed or downloaded boarding passes, and addressing any necessary modifications to bookings in anticipation of the scheduled system upgrade.

This system enhancement follows recent episodes of travel delays and disruptions leading to chaos at Delhi airport since Saturday evening. Delhi airport, handling nearly 1,200 daily flights, experienced significant delays affecting flight schedules nationwide. IndiGo, commanding a market share of over 60% in domestic air travel, confronted challenges arising from travel disruptions, consequently fostering dissatisfaction among passengers.
