WhatsApp continues to enhance user experience with a series of significant updates to its messaging app. Notable features now include a Chat lock, an HD photo option, an edit button for messages, screen sharing, and more, all aimed at simplifying users' lives. The latest addition to this impressive roster is the ability to use two different mobile numbers on one WhatsApp application.


This update holds particular significance, as users previously had to rely on dual or clone app features on their devices to manage two separate accounts. WhatsApp's latest move streamlines the process, making it easier for users to connect with contacts using different numbers.


Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up two mobile numbers on one device on WhatsApp:



  • Open WhatsApp and navigate to the Settings menu. Click on the arrow located next to your name

  • Select Add Account to initiate the setup process for your second account


It's worth noting that WhatsApp allows you to maintain full control over privacy and notification settings for each of your accounts, as stated in the official blog of the messaging platform.


WhatsApp has officially announced this feature, with plans to roll it out in the coming weeks, expected by the end of October or early November. At present, beta testers of WhatsApp are among the first to enjoy this feature. Initially, it will be available on the Android version of WhatsApp, with no confirmation yet on when the iOS version will receive the same treatment.


Additionally, In a bid to make it easier to log into WhatsApp, Meta has announced rolling out passkey support for the app globally. WhatsApp tested passkey support in beta for a couple of months before introducing it for users worldwide. Official passkey support for WhatsApp is available for Android users now, which means Android device users will be able to log into WhatsApp without passwords. There is no word on when the feature would be available for iOS users.
