Riding on the success of the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung grabbed the top spot in Rs 1 lakh+ segment in March and now, the super-premium smartphone is on track to outsell all models in the last four Galaxy Note series of devices globally, in its first 12 months of its launch. The South Korean tech giant is on track to hit sales of nearly 11 million or almost 1 crore Galaxy S22 Ultra models within the first year of launching in the market, says a new report.

According to Weibo, the number of units of the S22 Ultra could hit the 1.1 crore mark within 12 months of launching in the market. Compared to the Galaxy Note 22 Ultra, the Note 20 series which comprised two models only managed to sell 7.5 million units in the same timeframe. The highest-selling to date has been the Galaxy Note 8 which was unveiled in 2017 with 10.3 million sales, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is poised to overtake that.

To recall, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has only been on the market for barely six months, and it is set to change a lot till it turns 1.
Earlier this year, Samsung India informed that it captured more than 70 per cent of the premium smartphone market share in the month of March, courtesy of the robust sales of the super-premium Galaxy S22 Ultra which falls in the price segment of Rs 1,09,999-Rs 1,34,999. The Galaxy S22 Ultra alone accounted for 74 per cent of the company's sales volumes out of the company's 81 per cent share, says Counterpoint Research.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra rivals the likes of the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max in the Rs 1 lakh and above category.

Unlike other years, this year witnessed a healthy demand for the new Galaxy S22 series from the tier 2 and 3 cities across India and there was an unprecedented demand for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Aditya Babbar, Senior Director & Head of Product Marketing, Samsung India had told ABP Live in an exclusive interview.
"The Galaxy S22 series has really helped us to consolidate our leadership and it has come on account of a very important strategy which I call a '3 E', which is about expansion, experience and extraction. We made sure of the availability of phones at multiple touch-points -- we went up to 10,000 plus touch-points where consumers can buy the 22, even in tier 2 and tier 3 cities," Babbar explained.
