New Delhi: Handset maker Realme on Thursday marked its foray into the premium segment with the launch of the much-awaited Realme GT 2 Pro in India which features a bio polymer design that has a paper-like texture and no other smartphone has had to date. The Realme GT 2 Pro arrives with a top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, a 5,000mAh camera and a triple rear camera setup at the rear. The starting price of the smartphone is Rs 49,999 for the base model.
“We entered 2022 with bold new ambitions to augment Realme’s presence in the bespoke, premium segment with the GT series as a flagbearer. The overwhelming response from the users of the GT 5G series and GT NEO 2 5G series has given us the confidence to invest in breakthrough new technologies in the premium segment and raise the bar of user experience," Madhav Sheth, CEO Realme India, VP, Realme, and President, Realme International Business Group, said in a statement.
The Realme GT 2 Pro will go against the likes of Xiaomi 12 Pro (yet to be launched), the OnePlus 10 Pro, the Iqoo 9 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S22+.

The Realme GT 2 Pro comes with an industry-first bio-based polymer design and 2K AMOLED flat display. The device also comes with 65W SuperDart charge, a 5000mAh battery, and it is available in three colours: Paper White, Paper Green, and Steel Black. The price of the Realme GT 2 Pro starts at Rs 49,999 for 8GB+128GB model and Rs 57,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant.
The first sale of the Realme GT 2 Pro is slated to be held on April 14 from 12 noon onwards on Flipkart.com, Realme.com, and other and mainline channels.
The Realme GT 2 Pro comes with a triple-camera featuring the world’s only 150 degree ultra-wide camera, with a 50MP resolution and the world’s first fish-eye mode, powered by Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor. There is a 40X ultra micro-lens, and a 50MP primary camera with an IMX766 flagship sensor with OIS and EIS. There is a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls too.
Realme GT 2 Pro bank offers
The company has also announced an introductory offer for the Realme GT 2 Pro where buyers can avail of a Rs 5,000 cashback on HDFC Bank and SBI credit, debit cards and EMI transactions. After the bank offers, the effective price of the Realme GT 2 Pro will come down to Rs 44,999 and Rs 52,999 for the 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM models, respectively. Seems like Realme has taken a cue from Samsung and that is why it is also offering a complimentary Realme Watch S with the Realme GT 2 Pro for early buyers.
