Handset maker Oppo's upcoming Oppo Reno 8 Pro is going to be rebranded as a OnePlus phone, suggests the IMEI database. The Oppo Reno 8 pro was unveiled in China last month and a rebranded version on the Oppo device has surfaced on the IMEI database with model number PGAM10, according to a tipster. Other OnePlus models are also going to be rebadged Oppo smartphones with model numbers CPH2455 and CPH2413.
Handset maker OnePlus will rebadge the Oppo Reno 8 Pro, according to a number that has surfaced on the IMEI website. As per tipster Mukul Sharma, the device has model number PGAM10. Another Oppo model which is likely to be relaunched as the OnePlus Nord N20 SE is the Oppo A57. The model was recently unveiled in Thailand and it is likely to be unveiled in India soon too.
"So yeah, looks like OnePlus is going all-in with the rebranding/renaming game. After the Nord N20 SE, there's one more in line it seems. This one will be the Reno8 Pro rebrand, according to the model number. #OnePlus #OPPO," the tipster tweeted from his handle @stufflistings.
Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro is the world’s first device to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, built on Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing process. The processor is said to offer higher performance than its predecessors -- the Snapdragon 778G and 780G SoCs.
It should be noted that the price of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro in China was CNY 2,999 (which is roughly Rs 34,900) for the base 8GB RAM version. Oppo and OnePlus are not the first brands to do this. Poco is another handset maker which has unveiled several Redmi smartphones as rebadged devices under its name.
