Handset maker Oppo is set to launch the Oppo Reno 12 series on May 23 (Thursday) where it would introduce the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones. The broadcast the launch of its Oppo Reno 12 series event will be live on the popular Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo. The event begins at 16:00 China Standard Time (UTC+08). Notably, if Weibo is blocked in your region, you might need a VPN connection to watch the launch event.
The company recently unveiled the design of the Reno 12, and thanks to a new TENAA listing, we could confirm the phone will feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 8250 chipset and retain the same battery and screen as its predecessor, the Oppo Reno 11 (read our full review of the Oppo Reno 11 here).

Oppo Reno 12 Series Features, Specs, More (Expected)
The Oppo Reno series is anticipated to be the first among Android smartphones to offer live photos that can be saved in that mode. Previously, Android phones with live photo capabilities did not allow photos to be saved in this format.
The Oppo Reno 12 will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Although images are not yet available in the listing, it is anticipated that the panel will have slightly curved edges for improved handling. The phone measures 7.25 mm in thickness and weighs 179 grams, making it relatively lightweight compared to many modern midrange devices approaching 200 grams.

In the meantime, the 4nm chipset offers robust CPU performance, boasting one core clocked at 3.1 GHz, three cores running at 3.0 GHz, and an enhanced GPU compared to its predecessor.
The phone will sport a 50 MP front camera, while the rear will house a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
The Oppo Reno 12 showcases a sleek silver hue, while its counterpart, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro, exhibits an elegant purple colorway. Both devices boast glossy, glittery exteriors and sport elliptical rear camera modules positioned in the top left corner.
Several reports suggest that the Oppo Reno 12 5G might be fueled by the recently unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 8250 chipset, also known as the Dimensity 8200 Star Speed Edition. This octa-core processor, manufactured on a 4nm TSMC process, promises exceptional performance, featuring a setup that includes a prime Arm Cortex A78 core clocked at 3.1GHz, three Arm Cortex A78 performance cores operating at 3.0GHz, and four Arm Cortex A55 efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz.
With a Mali-G610 MC6 GPU onboard, the device is anticipated to deliver optimised performance.
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G is expected to revolutionise the gaming experience, using the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset. Designed to enhance gaming performance, this chipset ensures immersive graphics, responsive touch controls, rapid network connectivity, and extended battery life.
For photography enthusiasts, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G may be an enticing option, with rumors pointing to a sophisticated camera arrangement. This setup is rumoured to include a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto sensor on the rear, complemented by a high-resolution 50MP front-facing camera for capturing striking selfies and participating in clear video calls.
