Quashing speculations that BBK-owned Oppo and OnePlus are leaving key European markets, the handset makers have said they are committed to 'all existing European markets as well as the UK'. The companies have noted that they had a 'great start this year'.

Both the BBK-owned handset makers have, however, halted their device sales in Germany, in the wake of a patent dispute with Nokia.

"Oppo and OnePlus are committed to all the existing European markets and the UK. We had a great start in 2023 with the successful launches of several products in Europe and have a line-up of upcoming products for the rest of the year. As always, Oppo and OnePlus will continue to provide more innovative products and the best-in-class service for users moving forward," OnePlus said in an official statement to ABP Live.

To recall, Chinese publication 36kr.com, which quoted people familiar with the matter had mentioned that Oppo is set to exit Germany and the UK. The smartphone maker may have taken the decision to exit the region owing to the high costs of sales, the report further added. BBK's Oppo and OnePlus have been plagued by significant challenges in Germany. A patent lawsuit filed by networking services provider Nokia has banned both OnePlus and Oppo phones in Germany in August 2022.

It should be noted that despite having a good presence in India, both Oppo and OnePlus do not have a big market share in Europe, as per data from Counterpoint Research. Rivals Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi dominated Europe's smartphone market in the third quarter last year.

To recall, OnePlus has recently unveiled its OnePlus 11 series, comprising the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. Both have been received well globally with little to complain about.

The OnePlus 11 5G comes with the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC while the OnePlus 11R has the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM with RAM-Vita technology and a cooling system offering a 5,177.46 mm VC area. There's HyperBoost Gaming Engine that claims to render OnePlus 11R 5G with a better gaming experience.
