Several OnePlus users have been impacted by a "green line issue" on the OLED panels after the company rolled out the OxygenOS 13.1 update. Acknowledging the issue, the smartphone OEM on Thursday said the affected users could get their phone screens replaced for free as many times as they want. The OnePlus models that have been impacted by the green line issue include the OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9R. However, there's a catch and the users who have reported being impacted by the green line issue on the screens will get the replacement only in India.

"We realize that this issue has caused a great deal of inconvenience to the affected users, and we apologize for it. In line with our unwavering commitment, we encourage users to visit the nearest OnePlus service centre for device diagnosis, and we will provide free screen replacement for all devices affected by the situation," a OnePlus India spokesperson told ABP Live in a statement.

The spokesperson added: "On select OnePlus 8 and 9 Series devices, we are also offering a voucher that will provide the user with a 'fair percentage' of the device value to upgrade to a new OnePlus device."

Further taking note of the issue, the handset maker extended the screen warranty on all affected models for lifetime.

It should be noted that the green line issue started affecting OnePlus users in the past few months. The green line issue on the panel was reported by several OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9 series users on X (now Twitter), Reddit as well as OnePlus community forums. All the reports said that the OLED panels of their handsets showed green lines after installing the OxygenOS 13.1 update which is said to be ridden with multiple bugs and issues. Some users also reported that downgrading to the previous version also did not help with the issue.

Green or pink lines appearing on displays is not new and previously, several Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 users were affected by this. Some users of the flagship Galaxy S20+ were also said to be impacted by green line issue on this display.
