Handset maker OnePlus has cancelled the launch of the OnePlus Ace Pro in its home turf China today (August 3) even as it would go ahead with the global launch of the OnePlus 10T smartphone. The OnePlus 10T 5G is slated to launch today at 7:30 pm IST. The physical launch will be held at an event in New York City.

According to leakster Abhishek Yadav who goes by the name @yabhishekhd on Twitter, OnePlus is cancelling the OnePlus Ace Pro launch event on August 3. "OnePlus Ace Pro launch is also cancelled for today," the tipster tweeted.

Handset maker OnePlus took to Weibo to announce that the OnePlus Ace Pro launch event has been cancelled. However, the company did not mention why the launch event was cancelled. "We are very sorry that the OnePlus Ace Pro new product launch conference and recent related activities have been postponed for some reason, and follow-up plans will be announced separately," OnePlus wrote on Weibo.

This comes after Motorola cancelled its major launch on August 2. Lenovo-backed Motorola was set to launch the third edition of the much-awaited Razr foldable phone alongside the Moto Edge X30 Pro, but it cancelled the launch event.

The OnePlus Ace Pro is the company's first device with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Even as OnePlus has not confirmed the display details of the OnePlus 10T, it has mentioned that there would be a 120Hz display on the OnePlus Ace Pro, which is essentially the OnePlus 10T for China market. For imaging, there would be a triple camera setup at the back.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 10T would be launching globally on Wednesday but it is likely that the smartphone won't have a higher price tag than the OnePlus 10 Pro as "Pro" is missing from its name. Unlike the OnePlus 10 Pro which was unveiled in March at a price of Rs 66,999, the OnePlus 10T 5G may be unveiled for a price between Rs 50,000-Rs 60,000, suggest several reports and rumours.
