Homegrown consumer electronics brand Mivi on Friday started the construction of its new factory in Hyderabad, in the southern Indian state of Telangana. According to the company, this facility will integrate research and development (R&D) with manufacturing, marking a first such initiative in India. Mivi has allocated a whopping Rs 200 crore for the establishment of the factory in Telangana, a move that is expected to generate 2,000 new employment opportunities.


The new factory is slated to commence operations by March 2025.

Details Of Mivi's New Manufacturing Unit


The company highlighted its unique position as the sole audio manufacturing entity in the country, operating a manufacturing facility in Hardware Park, Shamshabad, Hyderabad, with more than 1500 employees.


Mivi's upcoming facility will integrate state-of-the-art technologies and adhere to rigorous environmental sustainability standards. With the capability to manufacture 100,000 units daily, the new plant will produce a wide range of audio products, including earphones, soundbars, speakers, gaming accessories, and related merchandise. This expansion will effectively double the company’s production capacity compared to its current factory.

The company emphasised its strategic outlook, aiming not only to enhance its proprietary Mivi brand but also to collaborate with renowned international brands as a product development and manufacturing partner. Discussions are ongoing to formalise such partnerships.


"This factory isn’t just bricks and mortar; it’s a symbol of innovation and progress. Alongside producing exceptional products, it will generate opportunities and positive impact nationwide. Notably, it will house component manufacturing for wearables, presently non-existent in India.
