While Apple has done away with its iPhone mini variant this year, its rival Google is working to introduce a small-screen flagship smartphone, suggests a reliance industry tipster. According to leakster Digital Chat Station, it is not yet clear whether the new mini Google Pixel phone would be part of the Pixel 7 lineup that is slated to launch at Google's annual Made By Event on October 6.
As per Digital Chat Station, Google's upcoming small-screen flagship smartphone is codenamed "neila". The upcoming small-screen Pixel device could come with a centered punch-hole screen and the visor-like rear design that we have already seen on the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 7 lineup of devices.
Even as this information has been leaked by Digital Chat Station who is seldom wrong, the leaked details should be taken with a pinch of salt until we get more details of the Pixel Mini.
Earlier last week, Google announced its "Made ByG oogle" event where it is set to launch its next lineup of Pixel phones and the Google Pixel Watch. The tech giant had teased the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones as well as the Pixel Watch during its annual I/O developer conference earlier in May.
The tech giant also mentioned that its new chipset that powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro won't be called Tensor 2, but it would instead be called Tensor G2 chip. Google had earlier mentioned that the smaller Pixel 7 would feature a dual-camera module while the bigger Pixel 7 Pro would feature a triple-camera setup at the back.
The upcoming Google Pixel 7 Pro is said to be different from its predecessor Pixel 6 Pro in terms of display brightness. According to previously leaked codes, the display panel on the Pixel 7 Pro will be brighter than the Pixel 6 Pro. As per the source code that is part of Android 13 betas, the Google Pixel 7 Pro will let users set the display brightness to 600 nits in manual mode, which is 100 nits higher than what the previous-gen Pixel 6 Pro offered.
