Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube Will No Longer Be Available On These Smartphones, Check Full List

Google has taken these steps to protect its users. The company has asked users to update their smartphones if they are running on the Android 2.3.7 version or less.

Google has given a big blow to its users who constantly use popular apps Maps, Gmail, and YouTube. Google has already stopped running these apps on outdated smartphones. Now, these popular Google apps will no longer work in smartphones running on the old Android version. Check if your smartphone is on the list of devices that won't support Google's suite of apps. 

Smartphones that won't support Google apps

According to Google, smartphones running on Android versions 2.3.7 or less will not be able to open many Google apps. This Android version is quite old and was released in the year 2010. According to the company, from September 27, 2021, the devices running on Android 2.3.7 or less will not support Gmail, YouTube, and Maps. If you sign in to your old devices, you may get a username or password errors.  

Steps taken for safety

Google has taken these steps to protect its users. If users are operating their smartphones on Android 2.3.7 or less, the company is advising them to update their mobile devices to Android 3.0 or above so that they can seamlessly continue using Google apps and services.

After Google turned off its support for certain devices, Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube will stop working on Sony Xperia Advance, Sony Xperia Go, Sony Xperia P, Sony Xperia S, Lenovo K800, Vodafone Smart II, Samsung Galaxy S2 and LG Spectrum. The company has also stopped support in LG Prada 3.0, HTC Velocity, HTC Evo 4G, Motorola Fire and Motorola XT532 smartphones.
