New Delhi: In a bid to celebrate Pride month in June, a Pride variant of the Apple Watch Series 7's would be launched soon. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the new Pride version of the Apple Watch should be launching "fairly imminently". He has, however, not provided a date for its availability.
"New Pride version of the Apple Watch should be launching fairly imminently. Marketing materials and updated Watch tables have started arriving at retail stores — for placement next week. Actual new bands should start arriving later this week," Bloomberg's Gurman tweeted late on Tuesday.
Apple has been launching special edition variants of the Apple Watch from time to time. earlier in 2021, the tech giant had unveiled the Watch Series 6 Black Unity limited edition and in January 2022, the company had announced the Black Unity Braided Solo Loop.
Apple announces 2 new Pride Edition bands, Pride watch faces
Meanwhile, in celebration of Pride month this June, Apple is releasing two new Pride Edition bands with dynamic Pride watch faces in support of the global LGBTQ+ community and equality movement. The Pride Edition Sport Loop this year showcases a colour gradient with the word “pride” woven directly into the band. The company is also launching a new Shot on iPhone pride campaign on Instagram that captures the essence of artists and figures within the global LGBTQ+ community.
"Apple is proud to build on its long-running support for LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations working to bring about positive change, from Encircle, an organization that provides life-affirming programs and services for the LGBTQ+ community and their families, to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people," the company said in a statement.
Additional advocacy organisations Apple is supporting include Equality Federation Institute, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, Gender Spectrum, GLSEN, Human Rights Campaign, ILGA World, The National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, and SMYAL.
Now in its seventh year, the Apple Watch Pride Edition bands and watch faces illustrate the ways in which the company stands with, supports, and is proudly made up of the LGBTQ+ community.
