New Delhi: Apple iPhone SE 3 5G, the next iteration in the 'affordable' iPhone SE lineup, is likely to enter the trial production phase soon. The device might arrive with an A15 Bionic chip and an X60 5G baseband modem, a  new report by tech publication ITHome says.

The report mentions that the next iteration in the iPhone SE lineup will be entering a trial production phase in the near future without giving the exact timeline. Contradicting a previous report by DigiTimes, this report adds that the company will not cut down the production quantity of the upcoming iPhone SE 3. Multiple contract component makers are gearing up for the iPhone SE 3 shipments.

We already know that the Apple iPhone SE 3 may be launched in the first quarter of 2022 as voice coil motor or VCM suppliers see no cutback in orders for the new models. According to a paywalled report published in Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, Apple's component suppliers are working towards shipping the next iteration in the iPhone SE line that is slated for launch next year.

"VCM suppliers see no cutback in orders for new iPhones: VCM (voice coil motor) and other component suppliers have still seen no cutback in orders for the new iPhones, and are gearing up for shipments for the next generation of Apple's iPhone SE series slated for launch in the first half of 2022, according to industry sources," DigiTimes had reported last week quoting industry sources.

The first iteration in the ‘affordable’ iPhone SE line was unveiled back in 2016. The iPhone SE (2020) edition was launched last year, but there has been no iPhone SE this year. There have been several leaks and rumours about a purported iPhone SE from Apple and one of the rumours suggested that the purported iPhone SE 3 could retain the thick bezels that we have seen in the iPhone SE (2020).
