Chennai: The low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal may result in heat surge by over 2-3 °C in Tamil Nadu for the next two days, said Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai on Saturday. The changes in the air circulation are also likely to cause mild showers in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and interior parts of the state for the next four days.
In a bulletin on Saturday, RMC said, Tamil Nadu is likely to witness a surge in maximum temperature by 2-3 °C due to the cyclonic air circulation.
However, the weather change is also set to usher rain in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, it said.

In Chennai, the IMD said, the weather is likely to be cloudy for the next 48 hours with the maximum temperature rising up to 35 °C and minimum temperature up to 24 °C.
The RMC has also issued a warning to fishermen to refrain from venturing into the sea.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Centre in a bulletin on Friday said, the low pressure area that lay centred over SE Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman sea and East Indian ocean on Friday will become a well-marked low-pressure area on March 19.
Further, it's likely to move nearly North along and off Andaman and Nicobar islands and intensify into depression by March 20 and cyclonic storm on March 21. It's likely to move towards Myanmar coast on March 22, the bulletin said,
