Chennai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started the second day of Bharat Jodo Yatra along with other party leaders on Thursday. Congress MPs Chidambaram and KC Venugopal, Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and others started the padyatra in Agasteeswaram in Kanyakumari.
Hundreds of party members including men and women took part in the march on Thursday. After the march, the Congress MP also hoisted a Tricolour flag in the district.

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi will hold an interaction with women activists at 2 pm. Later, he will distribute prizes for the winners of Jawahar Bal Manch Painting Competition. He will also hold a discussion with Dalit activists and Civil society representatives. He will resume the padyatra at 4 pm and continue until his public meeting at Scott Christian College in Nagercoil.
He will cover 25 kilometers every day and will cover the walk-in two shifts. The march will be from 7 am to 10.30 am and from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The morning session will include fewer participants but the evening session will see mass mobilization. Of the total, 30 per cent of the yatris will be women.

About 50,000 citizens have also registered to participate in the Yatra.
Till September 10, the march will cover Tamil Nadu. On September 11, the yatris will reach Kerala and the Yatra will traverse through the state for the next 18 days, reaching Karnataka on September 30. It will be in Karnataka for 21 days before moving north.
