On August 4, Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangaswamy will turn 72 years and this called for a unique celebration by his party members as they dived deep into the sea to hold a birthday banner wishing their CM a happy birthday. However, for the last two years, Rangaswamy's birthday was celebrated in a quiet manner due to Covid protocols.

The members of NR Congress party, whose President is Rangaswamy, deck up the Union Territory with banners and posters ahead of their CM's birthday. This year not only did they put up banners alongside the roads but party's youth leader from Kamaraj Constituency, Zakir Hussain, has displayed the banner in the deep sea.

In the video, two persons are seen in the mid of the sea unfolding a banner which has images of CM Rangaswamy with a subsequent caption that reads, "Good governance by a hero" (roughly translated from Tamil).

However, this is not the first time that CM Rangaswamy's birthday is being celebrated in unique ways, Puducherry wears a completely different look every year during its CM's birthday. Rangaswamy fans and followers deck up Puducherry during his birthday week as the banners and posters are seen featuring the CM in different avatars from Jesus Christ to Hanuman to Baahubali.

The banners featuring Puducherry CM ahead of birthday in the past years have been so different that sometimes the government received criticism for not effectively following an order banning the showcasing of banners and cutouts in the city. It's reported that the party workers of the All India NR Congress party used to put up over 2,000 posters in order to celebrate Rangaswamy's birthday, reported The news minute.
