After actor Vijay's official announcement of entering politics and introducing his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, celebrations broke out among his fans across Tamil Nadu on Friday. Well-wishers of the actor flooded the social media post where he made the announcement, expressing their wishes to Vijay.


The announcement of TVK came after a meeting in New Delhi between functionaries of actor Vijay's fan association, Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVMI) and the Election Commission (ECI). The office bearers of TVMI also submitted the formal application for registering the political party during the meeting.




Actor Vijay's supporters celebrated the announcement in Madurai. They burst fireworks and performed pooja across Tamil Nadu.






 

Vijay's fans also organised a celebration in Tirunelveli. 

 






 

 


 










Actor and director Nelson Dilipkumar, who directed actor Vijay in 'Beast', congratulated the actor for his decision. Nelson Dilipkumar said, "Congratulations and all the very best @actorvijay sir."







On Friday, actor Vijay declared his foray into politics, revealing the chosen name for his party as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). In the letter, the actor also said that he would exit the film industry and soon fully immerse himself in electoral politics. 















"On my behalf, I am going to complete another movie that I have already signed, without letting it interfere with party work, and I am going to fully engage in politics for the people's service and that is my debt of gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu," he said.
