Chennai: After facing one of the worst defeats in the urban local body elections, AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and AIADMK co-coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami appealed to the party cadre to take a pledge to 'save AIADMK'.

On the 70th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa (February 24), the AIADMK leaders urged the party workers to take a pledge to save the party and ensure its victory in the next elections.

In a release on Tuesday, O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami in a joint statement said, "Victory and loses in elections are faced by everyone. So we all should resolve to save the party, work for the people and complete the work left for us by J Jayalalithaa instead of feeling defeated."
